Strategy

An actively managed, tax-efficient strategy attractive in both high and low-interest rate environments that capitalizes on portfolio manager expertise to uncover inefficiencies in the secondary municipal bond market. The strategy seeks out short-duration, high quality municipal bonds with short calls, without the use of leverage, nor does it invest in other investment vehicles such as mutual funds or other pooled investment vehicles.

David joined Calydon Capital Partners in 2020 to lead the Short Duration Municipal Bond Strategy, bringing with him nearly 30 years of experience trading and analyzing credits, primarily in the municipal bond sector. David began his career at Stoever Glass & Co., a Wall Street fixed income firm, where he was a municipal bond trader and managed high net worth accounts. In 1993, David formed his own broker dealer, Weiner Abrams. In 2000, David co-founded and launched Munimart.com, the first online bid-wanted website for individual investors. At Munimart, David was head of municipal bond trading, specializing in distressed and defaulted issues in the secondary market.

David founded Vertigo Capital L.P. in 2005, where he managed a distressed municipal bond hedge fund and a short-duration/callable municipal strategy managed in separately managed accounts. David holds a bachelor’s degree in accounting and finance from the D’Amore-McKim School of Business at Northeastern University.

Eric joined Calydon Capital Partners in 2020 to co-lead the Short Duration Municipal Bond Strategy. Prior to joining Calydon Capital, Eric was the chief operating officer and chief compliance officer at Vertigo Strategies where he oversaw the firm’s fund and municipal bond strategies. Prior to joining Vertigo in 2014, Eric was the chief operating officer at Cincinnatus Global Partners, LLC, a CTA hedge fund. From 2010 to 2012, Eric was a Managing Director at Nine Thirty Capital, a high-net worth, customized hedge fund-of-funds platform catering to high net worth individuals and families.

Eric started his career in the marketing and advertising industry, working in both a strategic and operational capacity, before launching a firm specializing in operational efficiency. Eric graduated from Lafayette College and received a master’s in management from Northwestern University’s Kellogg Graduate School of Management.

Everett joined Calydon Capital Partners in 2021 to assist with trading and portfolio management of the Short Duration Municipal Bond strategy and Distressed Opportunity strategy. In addition to trading, Everett identifies unique opportunities in distressed credits and monitors names our clients already own. Everett started his career as a credit analyst at R. Seelaus & Co., a broker dealer specializing in municipal bonds. He was responsible for the research and trading that went into managing over $500 million in retail accounts. During his time at Seelaus, Everett was very active in trading high-yield municipal bonds with the street and was part of several syndicates.

Everett graduated from Princeton University with a bachelor’s degree in economics.
